North Kazakhstan State University is a leading educational organization of north Kazakhstan this world-class university was initially established as Petropavlovskiy teachers training institute. This institute was established 83 years ago in the year 1937 in Petropavl city of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

North Kazakhstan state university was renamed after academician Manash Kotzebue by the orders of the council of Kazakhstan in the year 2003.
